On October 28th, PDA hosted the LEAD Convening in Seattle, which welcomed over 200 LEAD practitioners from around the country.
Attendees gathered for a packed day of learning and networking, which included diving deeply into topics such as evaluation, LEAD and technology, growth and sustainability, working effectively with folks who have lived experience and how to build and maintain community and stakeholder buy-in. The day ended with several evening social activities, allowing people to make new friends and lasting connections in the LEAD family. Following the Convening, many attendees stayed on to attend the PTACC conference, where Lisa Daugaard, PDA Co-Executive Director, gave the keynote address: “That All-Important Sense of Where We Are,” in which she discussed what adjustments those committed to pre-booking diversion approaches must make as we confront dramatic shifts in public sentiment & the policy landscape and why is post-arrest diversion even more critical in this current political moment.
During the PTACC conference, PDA had the pleasure of hosting a wide variety of local learning opportunities, including providing walking tours of LEAD Focus Impact Areas, leading roundtable discussions about CoLEAD and offering tours of one of our CoLEAD facilities, and coordinating opportunities for attendees to meet with local business and community leaders to discuss how to grow strategic partnerships.
